What a year it has been!!

Highlights on 2009:

January:

Celebrated Kali Diwa (aka Ube)’s 7^th bday at the newly opened Academy Arts in Golden Gate Park with a million other people. Rachel started working for newly-sworn in SF District 11 Supervisor John Avalos, and started to make people at work call her “Raquel”. Jasen’s show at Blondie’s.

February: Raquel travel to Europe to participate in Filipino migrant consultations and hang out with Antje, visit Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank’s House.

March

BAYAN/GABRIELA Founding Assembly. Family spend a day at Venice Board Walk.

April

Antje (Jasen’s oldest friend from Germany) Jasen’s 2-night show. Raquel does keynote at Stanford’s Leadership Conference…Kids discover Fresh Choice…

May

Diwang Pinay…Still we Rise. Dome tour Dodgeball. Mothers day brunch and Mom’s weekend away.

June

Amihan graduate from Elementary School. FCC move to new locatin. Budget Hell Week, Raquel help balance budget with 45 million …..Stern Grove concernt with Roberta Fleck. Transformers

July

Hetch Hetchy . Amihan and Ube in Shakespeare camp. Watched Wicked. Leave for Puerto Rico. .

August

Malaya starts Kindergarten Deep sea fishing. Kid’s clean room!

September

Girl’s bday at McClaren Park. Diego Rivera. Raquel visits Philippine Forum in Queens (the FCC of New York) and hangs out (aka weekend meeting) at the Pokanos’.

October

I-Hotel dinner / karaoke at Intercontinental Hotel. Malaya and Raquel sees Disney’s On Ice Princess Show and gets lost on BART, Raquel leaves for the Philippines…returns just in time to receive Filipino Women’s Network’s Community Builders and Emerging Leaders Award

November

Diskarte Show at LaPena same night as Pacquio win over Cotto. Raquel spend late nights catching up on Filipino soap operas on youtube.

December

Raquel and Malaya perform at 2night sold out PinayStories Show. We get TFC.
